Pricing your white label pool: keep it simple
If you run a prediction pool, pricing can feel hard. But it does not need to be.
This guide helps you price a white label pool in a way that feels fair. It also helps you earn enough to keep it running.
On GoKoppa, this is Fantasy Football (is Prediction Game in English). People predict match results. They do not pick players for a squad.
Start with your basic costs
Before you set prices, list your costs. Keep the list short.
Common costs include:
- The white label platform fee
- Payment fees (cards and transfers)
- Customer support time
- Prizes (if you offer them)
- Marketing (even small ads)
Now set one clear goal:
- Do you want profit?
- Or do you want growth first?
Both are fine. Just decide early.
Build 3 clear packages
People like choice. But too many options confuse them. Use three tiers.
1) Starter package (for small groups)
Use this for friends, pubs, and local groups.
Include:
- A ready-to-play pool
- Basic branding (logo and colours)
- Simple rules and scoring
- Email or link invite
Price it low. Make it easy to try.
2) Plus package (most popular)
This should fit most organisers.
Include everything in Starter, plus:
- Custom pages (welcome, rules, prizes)
- Extra leagues or competitions
- Basic reports (entries, activity, top players)
Price it so most people pick it. This is your “best value” tier.
3) Pro package (for big groups)
Use this for larger communities and serious organisers.
Include everything in Plus, plus:
- Advanced branding (full theme, custom domain if possible)
- Priority support
- Extra admin tools (bulk invites, more controls)
Price it higher. Keep the value clear.
Tip: Show the Plus package in the middle. Add a “Most Popular” label.
Set margins that protect you
Margin means what you keep after costs.
A simple way:
- Estimate cost per pool, per month.
- Add your time cost.
- Add a buffer for surprises.
- Then set your price.
Keep margins healthy. You will need room for:
- Refunds
- Bad months
- Prize boosts
- New features
If you offer prizes, set rules that stop risk. For example:
- “Prize pool = % of entry fees”
- Or “Prizes only unlock after X paid entries”
That keeps your maths safe.
Choose a pricing model that fits players
Players want simple pricing. Use one of these:
- Per pool / per season: Easy for friend groups. One fee, done.
- Per entry: Good when group size changes a lot.
- Hybrid: Small base fee + per entry.
If you charge per entry, set clear bands:
- 1–50 entries
- 51–200 entries
- 201+ entries
Bands feel fair. They also stop price shock.
Add upsells that feel like value (not tricks)
Upsells work best when they help players have more fun.
Good upsells for prediction pools:
- Extra competitions (e.g., “Goalscorer tiebreaker” or “Weekend specials”)
- Private mini-leagues inside the main pool
- Prize add-ons (bigger trophies, extra winner places)
- Custom content (weekly tips, match previews, simple guides)
- Removal of ads or “clean mode” (if you show any)
Keep upsells small. Make them optional. Explain them in one sentence.
Use anchors to make prices feel right
People judge prices by comparison. That is normal.
Try these simple anchors:
- Show “Pro” first, then “Plus”.
- Add a monthly price and a season price.
- Offer a small discount for season pay.
Make trust part of your price
People pay more when they trust you.
Do this:
- Show clear rules
- Show clear prize terms
- Show clear data use terms
If you take payments, follow strong security practice. For a simple overview of safe online payments, see this guide from the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre: https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/payment-card-industry-data-security-standard-pci-dss
A simple example you can copy
Here is a clean structure:
- Starter: Low price, basics only
- Plus: Mid price, most features, best value
- Pro: High price, full control, priority help
Then add 2–4 upsells below:
- Extra competitions
- Prize add-ons
- Custom branding extras
- Clean mode
Final checklist
Before you publish your prices, check this:
- Can a new person understand it in 10 seconds?
- Do you still earn money after fees and prizes?
- Does your “Plus” tier feel like the obvious choice?
- Do your upsells make the game more fun?
Keep it simple. Keep it fair. Then let the games begin.
